  11.             How  many  times have you come across a computer related
  12.        word that you've never seen  before?   How about the words or
  13.        acronyms that you use regularly, but don't really  understand
  14.        what  they  mean?  Most of us have that information in one of
  15.        the  many  books   and   manuals   cluttering   our  desk  or
  16.        bookshelves, but it's somewhat of a pain to  go  looking  for
  17.        it.  Wouldn't it be nice to have all you need in one complete
  18.        package?  If so, look for PC GLOSSARY ver 5.1 and you'll have
  19.        definitions and much needed data anytime you need it.

  21.             There  are  other  programs that claim to define all the
  22.        computer terms, but  they  are  mostly  text  files that list
  23.        words and definitions.  These are  fine  if  that's  ALL  you
  24.        want.   You'd have to load your word processor or text viewer
  25.        and do a search for what  you  were looking for.  Not so with
  26.        PC GLOSSARY.  Everything is menu driven and moving around  is
  27.        very intuitive.

  29.             Once  the  program is loaded, you are given a variety of
  30.        choices.  The word list  in  on  the  far left of the screen.
  31.        You can cursor up and down to highlight a  word  and  hitting
  32.        ENTER  will  give  you  the  definition.   While  viewing the
  33.        definition, you are shown a  list  of "See Also" words at the
  34.        top of the screen that relate to what you are reading  about.
  35.        You  can  move  to any of these topics by highlighting it and
  36.        hitting ENTER again.

  38.             However, the program  goes  beyond just listing hundreds
  39.        of  words  and  definitions.   Context  sensitive   HELP   is
  40.        available  everywhere.   You  can do string searches that are
  41.        very fast.  You  are  given  3  different color combinations,
  42.        however, the default was the one I  preferred.   There  is  a
  43.        "Lookup"   table  that  lists  such  things  as  registration
  44.        information  and  bibliography.   But,  one  of  the handiest
  45.        portions of the program besides the word definitions  is  the
  46.        TABLES option.

  48.             The  TABLES  option  list several (17) useful "Reference
  49.        Tables" including such  things  as  ASCII  codes, floppy disk
  50.        specifications, common virus  problems,  and  one  that  even
  51.        lists nearly every DOS filename extension known to man!
  52.        
  53.             PC  GLOSSARY  is  a  complete  program  that has tons of
  54.        information in one convenient  spot.  I highly recommend this
  55.        for anyone, be they beginners or long time  users.   It's  an
  56.        excellent  program  to  pass  out  at  user  group meeting or
  57.        wherever you'd find new users.  Highly recommended!
